Belfast was for many decades the city, the center of terror and fear. Armored vehicles, roadblocks and uniformed security forces determined the street scene. The tensions between the Catholic and the Protestant populace were constantly culminating in a series of controversies. Added to this was the terror of the Irish underground movement IRA.

The Scottish band “Simple Minds” took the ballad from the Middle Ages,  “She Moved Through the Fair” (also known as: “Out of the Window” or “Our Wedding Day“), in 1989 and wrote their own lyrics on this traditional.

Patric Perquee has adopted this ballad from the Middle Ages and has created an outstanding classical adaptation with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra for the opening ceremony of the “Marbella Classic Festival”, which endeavors to become one of the most important classical festivals in the world.
